Geology

Short characteristics of the site: Old abandoned quarry with outcrops of the Zdounky Unit. So called Zdounky Cliff exposes limestones and marlstones of the Lower Cretaceous up to the Eocene Zdounky Unit. Sediments yielded typical Lower Cretaceous fauna. Stratigrahically and paleontologically significant locality.
